Here's Where I Open My "Box Of Tricks"!

I'm Ian Traynor, and I've been a professional webmaster (in one way or another) since 1996. I guess it's taken me a while to learn my trade, because I've basically learnt as I've gone along. When I needed to be able to do something on a website, I've set out to learn how it can be achieved.

The aim of this website is not to be a comprehensive guide to building websites. There are plenty of those already!

What I am doing is describing some of the "tricks" I've learnt so that I can share them with other people. It's a bit like a blog, really. I'll just add stuff when I feel like it!

Once you've mastered the basics of putting a website together (such as tables, formatting and enhancing text, adding images, adding hyperlinks and so on), it's not very difficult to add the bits of code which can make your website stand out from the rest.

That has also been the principle behind my Webmasters CheatKit range of software - giving non-techical people easy-to-use tools to add much more functionality to their websites. You can see a list of these tools over in the left-hand column.
